Scarf DIY

Hello everyone!
I've started knitting :D and here's my first product... this very cheerful scarf! I knitted the whole scarf first with 8mm needles and 100% acrylic yarn. Then I bought those small pompoms and sew them into the center line of the scarf. And voilà! It took me about 4 to 5 days of knitting (i'm a beginner) and the sewing about an hour, cause I hand sew it.

It's a great gift for a friend! And very easy to make :)

Shoes Makeover

I have this pair of worn out blank white shoes that I just couldn't wear anymore. So I decided to make a little makeover.. it's not done yet but here's how far I've gone :)
I used a Yoken black marker to color the front area. I waited a few minutes for it to dry then I used a normal black fine marker to draw a few small drawings on the sides, and that's it!

I might add a little lace something on the front black area.. maybe a fuchsia or yellow lace. I'll let you know how I finish it up :)

A sketch I drew on my sketchbook when I was bored at college... I tried to get the tones right and didn't focus on much details coz I didn't have much time to spend on it.
Tools: All sorts of degrees of B pencils, and an eraser :)

Handmade Card

A quick hand made card for my friend on her birthday.

First I drew the words of Happy Birthday Doo, then I colored them in black to emphasize their importance. I then cut some colored paper into rectangles of different sizes and glued them all around. And finally I added some cute little ink drawings :)

It really doesn't take much time and costs a lot less than a card from a store. And it's always a plus when u make something yourself for a friend :)

Handmade Guestbook

Hello everybody :)

My sister got engaged a few months ago. I was in charge of making the guestbook (along with lots of other things.. :D), so here it is!

Everything on the cover is hand made. I bought a big blank book with Canson paper and I decorated the cover. The colors of the ribbons and such were the same as the dress and the groom's tie, and the theme colors of course. It was really fun to make! Enjoy :)

The first one is my latest, it was a commission for a friend.

This one is supposed to be Elizabeth Taylor from the movie Cleopatra. I always have a challenge to get the face features correct.. but I think it kinda resembles her :)

I've been reading the novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, "Le Petit Prince", and I'm totally amazed by how deep it gets and how many morals and messages it teaches the reader. It is a really good experience, i think everyone should read it if they have the chance to, cause the novel is in french so that might be a problem :D

Those special parts i read today and i really wanna write about them cause they mean something to me, so here goes: (the ones in italic are fascinating)

[...]"Mais, si tu m'apprivoises, ma vie sera comme ensoleillee. Je connaitrai un bruit de pas qui sera different de tous les autres. Les autres pas me font rentrer sous terre. This book is one of the best for learning to appreciate a friend.
I really liked the part in bold, it's that all the trouble u go through for caring so much about a friend is actually the price of happiness. It's like u "buy" the happiness of friendship by doing all the stuff like worrying and giving service and getting hurt and so on. It is only by giving the price that u can have the value, the friendship that hands u the happiness.
I always thought that a friend comes in a package, with all the good moments and the bad ones. That i just had no other option but to accept the bad ones. I never understood that they were the reason I appreciated the good ones.
It is because i know the bad, i love the good.

What is stopping you?

So I was thinking about what is stopping ME? And I found out that I'm missing out on hundreds of awesome ideas and laughs and fun..
I discovered that I set up my excuses BEFORE actually setting up my reasons to do it.
I've discovered that I'm the reason of my own unhappiness, I'm the one who stops myself.
There's so many things I wanna do, so many ideas I wanna try, so many places I'd like to visit, so many people I'd like to know, etc..
Now that I think why I never actually did any of those things, I can't really find a rational reason. Like it said, it's just a whole big mess of excuses, that u can't actually define or identify a certain one.
Like, why does the answer have to be NO at first, and then think of reasons to turn it into a YES? Why isn't it the other way around?

So i was asked to try to design a logo for our Scout's Festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary and that's where i've gone so far.

I still need to fix some stuff and add some others, i dunno actually, it's my first time ever to make a logo so i'm not really a pro!

Anyway, i'll be posting the new edited one as soon as i finish it. I hope they like it though.

Rescue A Friend.

When your friend is in distress, when he's in pain;
He reaches out for help, he reaches out for a friend, he reaches out for YOU.
You try to help him, you give advice, you give comfort or you even give laughter.
You do your best to help.

Sometimes you can:
Sometimes you simply change his mood or sometimes you greatly change his world.
But the times when you can do nothing.
The times when your friend reaches out for you and you have nothing that can be given.
The times when your friend comes to you but leaves again, looking for the help you did not give!

What about those times?
What about those moments when you hate your helplessness?
The moments when you think his confidence in you fades,
Because you are not the friend he needs you to be...

Will he ever again love who you can be? Will he ever again love YOU ?

Have you ever felt like that?

I was very moved by this idea, that my friend could be my rescue, but that I can't be his even though I'd give almost anything to be that. It's such a bad feeling.
I really wanted to share this thought, and hear what you have to say about it, so please feel free to express yourself :)
